Kitescool Kite SurfingKitescool has since 2003 been teaching thousands of people how to kitesurf. Kitescool are based at Tahunanui beach in Nelson, New Zealand’s premier kitesurfing beach! and also teach at Marahau Beach in the Abel Tasman National Park – one of the worlds most beautiful kitesurfing spots.

Kitescool are very passionate about kitesurfing and run a fun and professional kitesurfing school including rentals, repairs and sales of kitesurfing equipment. All instructors are IKO qualified and we offer a range of kitesurfing or kiteboarding courses to suit all levels from absolute beginner too learning how to jump! During the kitesurfing lessons and kitesurfing courses Kitescool provide all the equipment, you just need to come along and enjoy the thrill of Kitesurfing.

Kite School ~ Kitesurf Lessons and Courses

Kitescool offers group and private lessons - every day from September/October to April/May.

Kitescool teach according to the IKO (International Kitesurfing Organisation) standards which are designed to help you learn in a safe way. There are 3 Levels to achieve and your IKO qualified instructor will respect your rhythm and take you through all the steps to reach your goals.

IKO Levels 1 and 2 Introduction Course ~ NZ $340
The 2 day introduction aims to cover IKO Levels 1 and 2 and is run over two days*. Generally the courses start around midday and run thru to 4.30-5.00 pm.
Discover Kiteboarding and elevate your water sports experience! The IKO Kiteboarding programs are designed to help you learn in a safe way. Your IKO instructor will respect your rythm and take you through all the steps to reach your goals.
Kitescool Kite SurfingOnce you complete this program, you will start riding on the board. You will be ready to continue to the next level of riding and become an independant kiteboarder!

Kiteboarder Level 2: In the water (6 - 8 hours):
*It generally takes more than one lesson to complete Level 2.

IKO Levels 1-3 ‘Zero to Hero’ Course ~ NZ $850
The 5 day Zero to Hero is the fastest way to learn to Kitesurf and aims to cover IKO Levels 1-3 and is run over 5 days*. Generally the courses start around midday and go until 4.30-5.00pm.
Once you have completed this program, you will be able to start jumping and you will be a truly independent rider!

Kiteboarding is a sport that is easy to travel with, so go explore different locations, water surfaces and wind strengths!

Let our experienced team put together a package that is perfect for you! Kitescool provides discount prices to all students. Another popular option is to hire the equipment from Kitescool and continue practicing at the end of your Kitesurfing course!

*It takes most people several lessons to complete Level 3 depending on previous experience.
