Alpine View Farmstay and B&BAlpine Views Farmstay Bed and Breakfast are as their name might suggest, located in the foothills of the Canterbury Plains with panoramic views of the stunning Southern Alps in the South Island of New Zealand.

Alpine Views farmstay is located centrally being 3 hours drive from Kaikoura, 3.5 hours to Mt Cook and 4.5 hours to Queenstown along the Inland Scenic Route 72. Only one hour's drive from Christchurch International Airport and 15 mins from the well known Mt Hutt Ski Area. Just 15 min drive with see you at Methven, a town boasting a wide array of cafes, restaurants and plenty of things to do.

The Farmstay is situated in the midst of 3 acres of parklike gardens and beyond this stretches 60 acres of fAlpine View Farmstay and B&Barmland, where we graze cattle and sheep and raise lambs and calves in the spring.

We have many pets and a team of 8 working sheep dogs - you will get to see these working dogs in action and hand feed other farm animals when you come to stay!

Our accommodation is clean and comfortable with ensuite facilities. You will wake up to incredible tranquility and a hearty country breakfast served in the gardens or on the deck if the weather is fine.

Dinner is additional and can be arranged on request and is to be recommended aAlpine View Farmstay and B&Bs Anna is an excellent cook (or so Ken says and he should know...) This is a genuine New Zealand experience staying with warm and friendly people in a true South Island village.

The village of Staveley is a quaint little settlement nestled at the foot of the beautiful Mt Somers. The Church, Village Hall, School (now museum), Store and Dairy Factory still remain, are used by the community, and travellers are encouraged to visit these buildings. Staveley is also the gateway to the Mt Somers Walking tracks as well as the popular ice skating rink.
